Accessing Lake Kawaguchiko
Getting to Lake Kawaguchiko is easy and convenient. From Tokyo, you can take the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki Station, and then transfer to the Fujikyuko Line, which takes you directly to the lake. The journey takes approximately two hours and costs around ¥2,000-¥4,000.
The Japan Rail Pass can be used on the JR Line to Otsuki Station only.
Alternatively, you can take a highway bus from Tokyo’s Shinjuku Station, which takes around two hours and costs around ¥2,000-¥3,000. If you prefer to drive, there are several rental car companies in Tokyo that offer cars for hire, and the journey takes around two hours as well.
