The Nagoya City Science Museum, (Nagoya Science Museum) is an exciting and interactive science museum. The Museum is characterized by the large silver dome, which houses one of the largest planetariums in the world, with a diameter of 35m (Approx. 115ft).
The museum aims to promote science and technology education and provides an engaging environment for learning. It covers a vast area with five distinct floors of exhibits, galleries, and theaters.
There are a number of permanent exhibits at the Nagoya City Science Museum, including the Brother Earth (Environment and Sustainability), Life sciences (genetics, biology), Robot Exhibit, Space and Astronomical Studies (Planetarium shows only delivered in Japanese), and the Science and Technology in Everyday Life.
Should your Japanese not be fluent, don’t stress. The museum has English Audio tour options, simply by scanning the QR Codes with the Museum guide app near the exhibits. There is also free WI-FI should you need to download the app while at the museum.

Accessing the Nagoya City Science Museum
The Nagoya City Museum is only a few blocks from Fushimi Station, on the Nagoya City subway, which is only one stop away from Nagoya Station.
The 3 minute subway journey will cost 210JPY one way on the Higashiyama Line. Note, the Nagoya subway departs from a different location from the Japan Rail lines, which operate out of JR Nagoya Station. From Fushimi Station, the walk is about 5 minutes.
Alternatively, it is a 25 minute walk from Nagoya Station, should you feel up for a walk.
