Mie Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of Japan, on the island of Honshu. The capital of the prefecture is the city of Tsu. Mie is known for its beautiful coastal scenery, including the Ise-Shima National Park, which is home to the Ise Grand Shrine, one of the most sacred Shinto shrines in Japan. The prefecture is also home to the Suzuka Circuit, a motorsports race track that hosts the Japanese Grand Prix. In addition to its natural attractions, Mie is also known for its traditional crafts, such as pottery and textiles, and its delicious seafood.

Mie is sparsely populated, with a total population of 1.8 million people.
