Arakurayama Sengen Park – Yamanashi

Iconic view of Mt.Fuji
Arakurayama Sengen Park, Yamanashi Prefecture, is one of the most stunning views in Japan

Arakurayama Sengen Park provides possibly one of the most iconic views in all of Japan. The park is located in the city of Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture

Arakurayama Sengen Park is most known for the view of the Chureito Pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen Shrine, which features Mt.Fuji as a backdrop and is one of the most photographed spots in all of Japan.  Just make sure you visit here on a clear day otherwise you might not get a view of fuji at all.

Arakurafuji Sengen Jinja is a 6th century shrine that was established with views facing towards Mt.Fuji. The aforementioned Chureito Pagoda is a 5-storied Pagoda  located further up the hill from the main shrine building.

The middle of April is the most popular time to visit the park as the stone stair pathway up to the viewing area is littered with Cherry blossom trees which of course peak in beauty. As the viewing area is on the side of a hill, you will need to walk up approximately 400 stone stairs to reach the pagoda.
