Ehime Prefecture is found in the Shikoku region of Japan, in the coastal area that lines the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. With a population of only 1.3 million people, Ehime is a very spread out prefecture, and small clusters of cities can be found primarily along the coastlines. Matsuyama City is the largest city in the prefecture, with a population of just over half a million. One of the local specialties in Ehime are Mandarin Oranges, and a special breed of Orange called Iyokan. These can be found primarily in rural areas of the prefecture.
Ehime Prefecture is home to the oldest hot spring hotel (Onsen) in Japan – Dogo Onsen -, which had some renovations to modernise the facilities and to restore other parts in 2019.
