While most popular at night, this attraction is open 24/7, and it the busiest after sunset when all the electronic billboards illuminate the canal.

The Rooftop Plaza is free observation deck which provides a good view of the Osaka skyline. You may not be towering over buildings from the rooftop plaza as you would from Abeno Harukas 300, the rooftop plaza is still a worthwhile observation deck for those not looking to pay the entry fee to the Abeno Harukas 300.
Explore Sumiyoshi Taisha
Sumiyoshi Taisha is one of Japan’s oldest and most important Shinto shrines. It’s located in the Sumiyoshi ward of Osaka, Japan. The shrine is dedicated to the kami (spirits or deities) who protect travelers and sailors, making it a significant place of worship for those seeking safety and good fortune during their journeys.
Sumiyoshi Taisha’s history dates back more than 1,800 years. It has been a place of worship for centuries and is considered one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan. The shrine has been rebuilt and renovated multiple times over its long history.

The beautiful Minoo Falls & Minoo Park
Minoo Falls, located in the mountains of Northern Osaka Prefecture, is a scenic waterfall found in Minoo Park and a nature reserve. It is almost the opposite what you would imagine Osaka to be like, but it really is a stunning place to visit.
While the hike to the waterfalls does take about 30-45 minutes for the average walker, the trail is very well maintained and almost anyone can hike it. Minoo Falls is located in a wildlife preservation area, where many Macaque monkeys were released several decades ago in hopes to reintroduce them to the Osaka forest.
It is free to visit Minoo Falls, and escape from the hustle and bustle of Osaka to enjoy the beautiful nature Osaka has to offer.
Namba Yasaka Shrine
Namba Yasaka Shrine is a uniquely shaped shrine, with the main shrine building designed to look like a lion head. There aren’t many shrines designed like this in Japan, so if you are into explore Japanese culture, then this site is well worth a visit.
Learn about Cup Noodles at the Momofuku Ando Cup Noodle Museum
The Momofuku Ando Cup Noodle Museum celebrates the invention of instant ramen, which revolutionized global food culture. There are a few small exhibits in the museum, and takes about 10-15 minutes to walk through.
The museum area itself is free to enter, but they do have a few paid add-ons, such as the My Cup Noodle Factory – where you can create your own instant noodle flavour – and the Chicken Ramen Factory, where you learn to make instant noodles from scratch.
Stroll though Ikeda Castle Ruins Park
Osaka has several ancient castles, all of which are recreations of their original castles which were destroyed throughout history. Ikeda Castle, located in the north of Osaka is one of those.
While this may be one of the smallest castles in Japan, it provides a quaint sightseeing experience and is much quieter than Osaka Castle. You can explore the beautiful gardens of the castle, and even go to the top floor of the castle for a great view of the nearby area all for free.
The Ikeda Castle is only a few short minutes walk from the Momofuku Ando Cup Noodle Museum.
