Lake Shoji (Shoji-ko) is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, located near Mount Fuji in Japan. It is the smallest of these five lakes, but like the other four, It is renowned for its picturesque views of Mount Fuji. Many locals enjoy the various outdoor activities around the lake, such as hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing.
The lake has an area of approximately 0.5 square kilometres and an average depth of about 15 meters. It is believed that Lake Shoji is connected to Lake Motosu and Lake Saiko through a series of underwater caverns and crevasses
Lake Shoji is also one of the least developed around, with only a handful of hotels and shops on its northern end. These hotels often have rooms and views of Mount Fuji, which could be a scenic getaway for anyone looking to see the famous mountain.
Because there is no easy public transport access to this area, Lake Shoji is often a calm respite where fewer tourists venture, providing a relaxing atmosphere for those who visit.

Accessing Lake Shoji
The easiest and quickest way to get to Lake Shoji is by a rental car or other private transport.
From the nearby city of Fujikawaguchi, lake Shoji is about 30-minute drive.
However, there is an infrequent bus for those without a car, which runs every 1-2 hours from Fujikawaguchi to Lake Shoji. A one way journey takes about 40 minutes, and costs 1200JPY.
