Lake Yamanaka is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Lake Yamanaka is one of the Fuji Five Lakes located at the base of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Known for the stunning views of Mount Fuji, Lake Yamanaka is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

It is the largest lake in terms of surface area among the five, covering approximately 6.57 square kilometers (2.54 square miles). Despite being the largest by surface area, it is relatively shallow with an average depth of around 13.5 meters (44 feet) and a maximum depth of 15 meters (49 feet).

Lake Yamanaka is a popular destination for various recreational activities, such as fishing, boating, windsurfing, and camping. There are also a few hot springs (onsen) resorts in the area.

Additionally, cycling around the lake is a popular recreational activity, thanks to the the stunning view of Mount Fuji achieved from the shorelines. There are many bicycle rental shops found around the lake, and some hotels may offer this as part of your stay.

Furthermore, paddling Swanboats, or otherwise alike paddle boats is a popular activity. The Lake is typically very calm and free from motorboats. As such, renting a swanboat from one of the many vendors is also a popular activity.

Accessing Lake Yamanaka
