Yasaka Shrine, also known as Gion Shrine, is a must-see destination for any traveler visiting the ancient city of Kyoto, Japan. The shrine, which dates back to the 8th century, is located in the heart of the Gion district, known for its traditional geisha culture and beautiful architecture.

Yasaka Shrine is found halfway between Heian Shrine, and Kiyomzudera. 

The closest train stations to Yasaka Shrine are about a 15 minute walk, with the closest being Gion-Shijo Station.

From Kyoto station, the 100 and the 206 Bus stop near Yasaka Shrine. When taking the bus, get off at Goin bus stop, which is located conveniently less than a block away from the West Tower Gate. The bus will take about 20 minutes, costing 230JPY one way.
